Une commande réalisée pour Alexandre.

Elle rend hommage à Mo Foster, bassiste de renom ayant enregistré plus de 400 albums et singles.

Notre point de départ a été sa Precision Bass de 1974 qui a subit plusieurs modifications au fil des ans.

Voici les choix effectués :

Du frêne des marais pour le corps. Sa sonorité accentue les aigues, tout en gardant des basses articulées. Une dynamique superbe, percussive et rapide à l'onglet ou équilibrée et douce avec les doigts.

Un chevalet Leo Quan Badass II, réalisé en alliage de zinc de haute densité. Il offre une amélioration de l'attaque, du sustain et des notes mieux définies.

Un micro Mama Original Split, le son Precision avec une bonne réponse au toucher et une balance parfaite entre le punch, la profondeur et la brillance.

Un micro Mama Jazz Report, le son Jazz Bass de Jaco Pastorius sur Weather Report, équilibré, clair et riche en harmoniques. Placé en position 60's, il offre un son complet et moins nazillard. Avec son niveau de sortie plus élevé, il se marie parfaitement avec le micro precision. 

Réglages 3 potentiomètres, volume, blend, tone.

Le blend est précis et réactif ce qui permet un réglage des fréquences fin.

Un profile de manche moins large et plus fin basé sur une Jazz Bass.

La touche a un radius de 9.5" et des frettes larges en inox ainsi qu'une frette zéro qui garantit une sonorité identique à vide et sur l'entièreté du manche.

Un truss rod double action et des renforts de manche en paulownia pour un réglage fin et une stabilité de manche parfaite.

Pour le bois du manche, le choix s'est fixé sur une pièce exceptionnelle d'érable moucheté et ondé. Sa sonorité accentue les hauts médiums et les aigues, tout en gardant des basses articulées. 

Pour la touche, de l'érable américain, pour une sonorité précise.

Beaucoup pensent que les manches tout en érable apportent de la surbrillance mais ici, on obtient une belle dynamique. 

La finition du corps reproduit un refinish comme il a pu souvent être fait dans les années 80 : le résidu d'ancien bouche pore ou de finition pour marquer le veinage et puis finition nitrocellulose naturelle teinte miel. Comme régulièrement à l'époque, le vernis à été appliqué en "flashcoat", un vernis plus fin et non poli qui donne un coté plus brute et texturé, tout en gardant un toucher très agréable.

La finition du manche est un nitrocellulose satiné pour un touché plus doux et un visuel moins brillant

Le résultat est un instrument au look vintage, intemporel mais aussi inhabituel et complètement unique.

Pour ce qui est du son, c'est ce qu'on attend d'une vrai PRECISION JAZZ: dynamique, growl, finesse et sustain.

It pays tribute to Mo Foster, a renowned bassist who recorded over 400 albums and singles.

Our starting point was his 1974 Precision Bass, which has undergone several modifications over the years.

Here are the choices made:

Swamp ash for the body. Its sound accentuates the highs while maintaining articulate bass. Superb dynamics, percussive and fast when playing, or balanced and smooth with the fingers.

A Leo Quan Badass II bridge, made of high-density zinc alloy. It offers attack, sustain, and more defined notes.

A Mama Original Split pickup, the Precision sound with great response to the touch and a perfect balance between punch, depth, and brightness.

A Mama Jazz Report pickup, the Jazz Bass sound of Jaco Pastorius on Weather Report, balanced, clear, and rich in harmonics. Placed in the 60's position, it offers a full, less twangy sound. With its higher output, it pairs perfectly with the precision pickup.

Controls 3 knobs: volume, blend, and tone.

The blend is ​​precise and responsive, allowing for fine tuning of frequencies.

A narrower, thinner neck profile based on a Jazz Bass.

The fingerboard has a 9.5" radius and wide frets, including a zero fret, ensuring an identical tone across the entire neck.

A dual-action truss rod and paulownia neck reinforcements provide fine tuning and perfect neck stability.

For the neck wood, an exceptional piece of bird's-eye and flamed maple was chosen. Its tone accentuates the upper mids and highs, while maintaining articulate bass. Precise notes in every situation.

The fingerboard is made of Hard Rock Maple, for a precise tone.

Many people think that all-maple necks add a touch of brightness, but here, we achieve beautiful dynamics.

The finish of the body replicates a refinish often seen in the 80's, with residue from old filler or finish to emphasize the grain, followed by a natural honey-tinted nitrocellulose finish. As it was frequently the case then, the varnish was applied as a "flashcoat," a thinner, unpolished varnish that gives a rawer and textured look, while maintaining a very pleasant feel.

The finish of the neck is a satin nitrocellulose for a smoother feel and a less glossy appearance.

The result is not only an instrument with a vintage and timeless look, but also an atypical and totally unique one !

For the sound, it gives exactly what you expect from a true PRECISION JAZZ: dynamics, growl, finesse, and sustain.
