Fabrice : "Je ne te remercierai jamais assez pour avoir fait la guitare de mes rêves, aussi bien soniquement que visuellement ! Pour moi c'est plus qu'un instrument, enfin, grâce à elle, je peux exprimer mes émotions à travers la musique sans me sentir limité.

J'ai un peu rejoué hier soir et c'était vraiment cool de pouvoir transmettre à l'instrument ce que je voulais exprimer et l'entendre de mes oreilles comme je l'imagine dans ma tête, jamais une guitare ne m'a permis ça !"

Voici la guitare réalisée pour Fabrice, grand fan de Steve Vai.

Les caractéristiques sont un mélange entre l'Ibanez JEM & PIA ainsi que des modèles personnels de l'artiste.

Pour ce qui est de la finition, il rêvait de la finition Swirl depuis le modèle Universe des années 90.

Pour le son et le confort recherché, voici les choix effectués :

Du frêne des marais pour le corps. Sa sonorité accentue les aigues, tout en gardant des basses articulées. Une dynamique superbe, percussive et rapide à l'onglet ou équilibrée et douce avec les doigts.

Le tremolo Ibanez Low Pro Edge, modèle le plus évolué de la marque. Sa hauteur réduite permet un meilleur confort de la main et une facilité d'accès au réglage. Sa fabrication en métal dense améliore le sustaine.

Un micro chevalet Dimarzio Paf Pro, le son ouvert du PAF mais avec plus de présence et de mordant. Les basses sont à la fois percutantes et profondes, et une légère accentuation des médiums confère au micro une sonorité en « aw » subtile, évoquant une pédale wah-wah réglée au milieu. La réponse dans les aigus est optimisée pour produire des aigus qui ressortent sans devenir criards.

Un micro milieu Dimarzio HS-2, il offre un son riche et naturel, clair et brillant, le tout sans bruit. Contrairement à beaucoup de simple bobinage, il

sonne vraiment bien seul, ce qui n'est pas le cas, en général, sur ce genre de configuration micros où il est employé en conjonction avec les humbuckers.

Un micro manche Sustainiac Stealh Pro, le Driver remplace votre micro manche et, associé à votre micro chevalet passif et à la carte électronique principale, produit des effets de sustain et de feedback quasi infinis. Lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé, le Sustainiac Driver fonctionne comme un micro manche actif à simple bobinage.

Pour ce qui est des réglages, nous avons :

- 1 volume avec un treble bleed pour garder la clarté sur toute la course du volume.

- 1 tone.

- 1 sélecteur 5 positions

- 2 mini switch, le premier permet d'activé le sustainiac et le second de choisir le mode (Harmonique, Mix, Fondamental) 

Un profile de manche très fin. La touche a un radius de 17" et des frettes inox larges.

Un truss rod double action et des renforts de manche en paulownia pour un réglage fin et une stabilité de manche parfaite.

Pour les bois du manche, le choix s'est fixé sur de l'érable torréfié pour son visuel et ses caractéristiques sonores, accompagné d'une touche en palissandre pour un ajout de rondeur.

Le résultat est un instrument au look unique, surprenant et hypnotique avec un son qui perce toujours dans le mix.

Fabrice : "I can't thank you enough for making the guitar of my dreams, both sonically and visually ! For me, it's more than just an instrument, thanks to it. I can express my emotions through music without feeling limited. I played a little last night, and it was really cool to be able to convey to the instrument what I wanted to express and hear it with my ears exactly as I imagine it in my head. No guitar has ever allowed me to do that!"

Here's the guitar I made for Fabrice, a huge Steve Vai fan.

Its features are a blend of the Ibanez JEM & PIA, as well as some of the artist's own personal models.

As for the finish, he'd been dreaming of the Swirl finish ever since the Universe model from the 90s.

For the desired sound and comfort, here are the choices made:

Swamp ash for the body. Its tone accentuates the treble while maintaining articulate bass. Superb dynamics, percussive and fast when played with a pick, or balanced and smooth with the fingers.

The Ibanez Low Pro Edge tremolo, the brand's most advanced model. Its reduced height allows for greater hand comfort and easier access to the controls. Its dense metal construction improves sustain.

A Dimarzio PAF Pro bridge pickup, the open sound of the PAF but with more presence and bite. The bass is both punchy and deep, and a slight mid-range boost gives the pickup a subtle "aw" tone, reminiscent of a wah-wah pedal set to the middle. The treble response is optimized to produce bright, clear highs without becoming shrill.

A Dimarzio HS-2 middle pickup delivers a rich, natural, clear, and bright sound, all without any noise. Unlike many single-coil pickups, it sounds really good on its own, which isn't usually the case in this type of pickup configuration where it's used in conjunction with humbuckers.

A Sustainiac Stealth Pro neck pickup, the Driver, replaces your neck pickup and, combined with your passive bridge pickup and the main circuit board, produces virtually infinite sustain and feedback effects. When not in use, the Sustainiac Driver functions as an active single-coil neck pickup.

As for the controls, we have:

- 1 volume with a treble bleed to maintain clarity throughout the entire volume range.

- 1 tone control.

- 1 five-way selector switch

- Two mini switches: the first one activates the sustainiac, and the second one selects the mode (Harmonic, Mix, Fundamental).

A very thin neck profile. The fingerboard has a 17" radius and wide stainless steel frets.

A double-action truss rod and paulownia neck reinforcements ensure fine-tuning and perfect neck stability.

For the neck woods, roasted maple was chosen for its appearance and tonal characteristics, paired with a rosewood fingerboard for added warmth.

The result is an instrument with a unique, striking and hypnotic look with a sound that always cuts through the mix.
